Thank you for your interest in the Civil Air Patrol and the West Georgia Composite Squadron.
As the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, the Civil Air Patrol is an all-volunteer organization made-up of cadet and senior members like you seeking opportunities to give-back to their country and community.
For over 60 years, the Civil Air Patrol has contributed to homeland security, saved lives and property through Emergency Services, promoted Aerospace Education and supported the development of our youth with our Cadet Programs. Founded December 1, 1941, the Auxiliary has remained always vigilant (Sempter Vigilans) in its efforts to patrol the skies and covering the ground whether aiding in homeland or hometown security.
Leading the efforts is West Georgia Composite Squadron (GA-153) in LaGrange, Georgia. Our senior and cadet staffs are among the best with driven and skilled leaders devoted to the unit's missions and being the best they can be. Led by Major John Burgess, the 153rd is becoming an insuppressible force of competence and professionalism in Troup and its surrounding counties. Members are always positive and know that fortitude and heart will always prevail over adversity, leading to our motto:
Per Aspera Ad Astra: Through the Thorns, To the Stars.
I would like to personally welcome all of you to our unit's website. We have a lot of great plans for the 153rd, and I am very grateful for your assistance. Without the seniors and cadets, our squadron would not be the powerhouse it is today. Our meetings are Tuesdays at 1800 to 2000 at the end of Aerotron Parkway in LaGrange, GA.
