Captain James L. Rose is Squadron Commander of West Georgia Composite Squadron (GA-153). His primary duty is to assist Georgia Wing Group 6 Commander LT Col. David Austin in leading Civil Air Patrol volunteers in fulfillment of the its organization’s three missions of Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education.

Active in Civil Air Patrol since 2007, Captain Rose is a rated Ground Team Leader and Scanner. Served as Deputy Commander for Cadets for Newnan Coweta cadet squadron (GA-448) and West Georgia Composite Squadron (GA-153).

Captain Rose also serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Master Sergeant working as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist, preforming CBRN reconnaissance and surveillance; decontamination operations; conducting CBRN sensitive site exploitation. Joining in 1984 Master Sergeant Rose have served in many location including a year tour in Iraq.
